We spoke with Thomas van Ringen . Thomas has been working at WerkTalent as Marketing Manager since 2020.

“When you work with us, you are not just a number earning money for us.”

 

Hi Thomas, what exactly does Werktalent do?

“We started as a temporary employment agency 21 years ago, but have now become an employment mediator. This means that we not only send people to our customers, but assist and support them throughout the entire process, or if desired, take care of the process. Then we handle the recruitment, selection, and ultimately the placement. We mainly work in logistics, industry and technology.”

That’s clear. What do you do differently from other companies?

“I think we really care about personal contact. When you work with us, you are not just a number making money for us. You are someone with your own wishes in the field of work and personal development. We believe it’s important to truly listen to those wishes. We aim to personally engage with candidates and understand their concerns and aspirations.” 

What exactly does the collaboration with askemo offer?

We believe personal contact is crucial, and ultimately that is what we achieve with the collaboration with askemo.”

Can you explain that?

“ One of our certainties is local work that suits you. But then we have to find out whether the work suits you. It is very important to us that someone enjoys their work. That is why every employee has their own contact person within our organization. This means they can always contact us for questions, comments or just to vent.

Because not everyone is naturally talkative, askemo has helped us get more out of our interactions with employees by offering these people an additional channel to provide feedback.”

How does askemo help with that?

“ Together with askemo, we have translated our process into a feedback workflow. This starts as soon as an employee signs a contract.

So by this point, someone has gone through the entire application process and received a lot of information from us. We then ask for feedback with a single brief question to ensure that we truly understand if everything is going as planned or if there might be something on the employee’s mind. Fortunately, we generally score very well on this.”

 

And after that?

“We notice that the first day of work can be exciting for some employees. This is also the real first impression of the work. An important measuring moment. Our employees are therefore asked immediately after their first working day how that first working day was, in a very straightforward way. We’ve set it up so they receive an email directly from their contact person.

Throughout the first three months, we ask one question at several points because we want to ensure everything is going smoothly. This approach prevents issues from festering and allows us to address them promptly.

Our customers sometimes find asking for feedback challenging, but we succeed in convincing them of the importance of gathering this information. Even if someone appears to be less satisfied, it is always better to just know so that you can solve it.”

 How is the daily cooperation between you and askemo?

“We embarked on a journey with askemo starting with a pilot at a branch in Brabant. At Werktalent, we’re committed to implementing new initiatives thoughtfully. We have always been able to adapt the questions slightly to our wishes. We were so satisfied with the pilot that we subsequently decided to gradually introduce it throughout Werktalent.

It works very smoothly. You also notice that askemo is constantly working on improving things for us. That’s just a great basis for collaboration.

Do you get any other benefits from the collaboration?

“For every company, it’s important to be found on search engines like Google. That’s why Askemo has integrated Google review requests, allowing us to collect reviews from employees. If you’re a good company, you shouldn’t worry about negative reviews. We see such reviews primarily as appreciation or as attention to areas we still want to improve. It’s a real win-win.”
