Together, striving to be the best every day. That is the aim of the colleagues at Detailresult . They work for the supermarket chains Dirk , DekaMarkt and Dirck 3 . They have a clear goal: to support them so that they can focus on their core business.
You’ll hear from Sharon Werkhoven, organizational development advisor at Detailresult, about how they harness everyone’s talents and prioritize colleagues. She’s responsible for formulating group-wide HR policies and collaborates with her colleague Mirjam Hoogeveen, HR Advisor, in this endeavor.

Sharon, I see you hold a senior position at Detailresult. What makes the work enjoyable after all this time?
“After finishing my studies, I started at Dirk where I quickly got to do a lot. I learned tremendously there. When Detailresult started in 2006, I was hired for a staff position. Detailresult is large, dynamic, and offers many opportunities. That’s why legally I’ve only had one employer, but in my experience, it feels like I’ve had five!”

Then you have always been a passionate employee. Do you measure this? “A year ago, my colleague Mirjam started an employee survey at ICT. The theme in which we were looking for answers was clear, but we wanted to try out the questioning method in a different way. It had to go from static to dynamic. Someone tipped us off to askemo and that’s how we came into contact with Roel.”  

 

But what is the difference now, for employees? “To be honest, I used to put off those traditional surveys myself. When I eventually got around to doing them, I rushed through it. Answering questions for twenty minutes straight doesn’t fit in with spirit of today. What fits now is short, impactful, light-hearted, funny, fresh, lively, and quick. Did I say simple yet?”  

What can HR managers and advisors do? “During the demo, our management immediately became enthusiastic and the pilot soon followed. With the askemo dashboard, managers have direct insight into employee feedback. They discuss current themes in the next team meeting instead of waiting months for the reports.”

What do you think is important, Sharon? “Most days the glass is half full and sometimes it is half empty. What I like best is that askemo asks the question at different times. The themes we are now asking are: Working at Detailresult , Team dynamics and Well-being Work pressure . This is exactly the same as in the survey from a year ago. This way we can see whether we have improved.”  

 

How are colleagues at Detailresult involved in this? “We no longer need to send constant reminders. Now, it takes just 30 seconds to respond, or less than a minute and a half if you provide a detailed explanation. Responses are given anonymously, and we further ensure anonymity by combining small teams of fewer than five colleagues with another team. If employees still choose not to participate, we don’t judge. We just want to emphasize that we’re doing this to listen to them and to learn what can be improved.”
