    What is askemo?

Askemo is software that provides organisations with insights into what is currently happening on the shop floor. With Askemo, you can conduct your Employee Engagement Survey (EES) in an accessible and action-oriented way, as well as Employee NPS (eNPS), onboarding and exit surveys, PSA, PMO and other surveys.

Askemo offers validated question sets, plus the option to quickly and easily add your own questions and statements. Using AI and HR Analytics, you can immediately translate incoming feedback into action and policy, thereby preventing unwanted staff turnover and unexpected absenteeism.

What is the difference between satisfied and enthusiastic employees, and why does it matter?

A satisfied employee is content with their work and working conditions. They get on well with their colleagues and are happy with their terms of employment. They carry out their duties without exerting themselves unduly. Key words are: routine, reactive and passive. A satisfied employee does not hinder the development of your organisation, but nor are they the one who actively strives to bring about improvements.

An enthusiastic employee wants to grow and develop. Furthermore, they enjoy the process involved and even draw energy from it. They have clear goals and want to achieve them within the organisation where they work. Achieved results make them proud, and they encourage colleagues to adopt the same mindset. Key words are: energetic, active, ambitious. An enthusiastic employee is constantly working to optimise the growth of your organisation.

    Does Askemo have an app?

No. We don’t believe your colleagues will (yet…) download an app just to give you feedback. Another drawback of apps is that they only work if the recipient has push notifications enabled, which is often not the case.

Askemo works just as simply as a ‘Tikkie’; here too, the recipient doesn’t need to download an app. Your colleagues receive a unique link and provide (anonymous) feedback. You can send this link via email, WhatsApp, SMS or even via MS Teams. Your colleague opens it on their mobile or laptop and provides feedback straight away.

If you’re already using an app, we’d be happy to integrate with it! After all, it makes perfect sense to send Askemo via the channel you already use to communicate with your colleagues. No separate Askemo app is needed for this.

In which languages is askemo available?

Askemo has been fully translated into over 15 languages. There’s also a built-in AI translation button that lets you translate any survey or question into any language you like with just one click… :)
If a colleague provides feedback in a language that isn’t your company’s official language, it will be automatically translated into your company’s official language for reports and analytics.

How often do you ask for feedback using askemo?

That’s entirely up to you. Askemo works with short, accessible check-ins. Not everything at once, not too often, but precisely when it’s relevant.

In practice, we see that you optimise the frequency by looking at what your organisation (HR, plus line management) can handle. Avoid requests that cannot be followed up on; that is counterproductive. Most clients opt for a theme-driven request, once a quarter.

    Does Askemo use pulse measurements?

That’s possible. Askemo’s flexibility makes it ideally suited to pulse surveys. Our advice is not to opt for continuous pulse surveys, but for regular pulse surveys.

What is the difference? With regular surveys, you pause between rounds to give the organisation the chance to act on the feedback received. This prevents survey fatigue and ensures you receive more feedback – and better feedback.

Are you overburdening your staff with ASKEMO?

On the contrary. Askemo is designed to prevent over-questioning.
Only ask follow-up questions where necessary; no long lists, no 60+ standard questions that yield no useful information.

Can you use Askemo for benchmarking?

Yes. We offer a benchmark at two levels:

    1. Employee NPS benchmark

The Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) is a standardised metric.
It is an excellent tool for benchmarking, both internally (over time) and externally (against other organisations).

eNPS provides a clear, comparable figure for engagement and advocacy.

    2. Benchmark by theme

The askemo libraries contain more than 300 statements, spread across 18 relevant and topical themes (sustainable employability, growth, vitality, management, social safety, etc.). With askemo, you can benchmark at theme level, without being tied to a rigid questionnaire.

Our clients do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. No two organisations are the same. So why should you have to send everyone exactly the same questionnaire in order to benchmark? We think that’s a waste, and ineffective.

    Our view on benchmarking

    Benchmarking is valuable.
But what’s more important is that you ask questions that are truly relevant to your organisation.

What we often see is that organisations want to compare.
But in doing so, they forget that their own context is unique, and that taking action is more important than the perfect comparative figure

At askemo, we therefore combine the best of both worlds:

    • Flexibly measuring what matters to you
    • Benchmarking where it is logical and valuable

Do you mainly want to compare yourselves with others? Then we’ll structure the research accordingly.
Do you mainly want to drive change within your organisation? Then we’ll design it to deliver action.

And often, it’s a smart combination of both.

What happens to the feedback we receive?

Feedback doesn’t get lost in a report. Issues are brought to the attention of the right people, so that discussions and action can follow in good time.

Is Askemo a tool or an approach?

Askemo is more than just a tool. It’s a way of listening that puts people and teams back in the driver’s seat.
We offer various options for our clients. You can purchase the software, with or without libraries, and create and send out your Askemo surveys entirely independently. We also employ experienced HR professionals who can assist you and/or take care of everything for you.

You choose what suits your organisation; we help you achieve your goals!

How soon can you start using askemo?

Getting started is straightforward. There are no complex implementations or technical processes involved. The focus is on delivering value quickly, not on lengthy set-up procedures.
We can get started within two weeks of the quote being approved!

Do staff need guidance or training?

No. Askemo works in the same way as ‘Tikkie’. Your colleagues simply answer short questions via their mobile, tablet or laptop.

No separate apps or complicated instructions are required.

    How much does Askemo cost?

Askemo operates on a fixed-fee basis, based on the number of employees in your organisation. This is always an all-inclusive price, giving you access to unlimited feedback.
No per-survey charges, no hidden costs. To calculate a quote, we’ll need some details from you: how many employees do you have? Are you looking for software only, or would you like support as well?

The investment in Askemo starts from just €0.29 per employee, per month. If you’d like to know what your investment would be, please get in touch with one of our colleagues.

Who manages Askemo within the organisation, and how much time does it take?

Management is usually the responsibility of HR, sometimes in collaboration with team leaders and/or the works council. Askemo is designed in such a way that management remains straightforward and does not create any additional workload.

As Askemo does not involve complex reporting or fixed measurement cycles, management primarily requires attention at the right moments. It does not take up a significant amount of time on a regular basis. You can expect to spend 2–4 hours per quarter on technical management.

Is Askemo an employee satisfaction survey?

Yes. And no. Askemo replaces the traditional MTO.

A traditional MTO looks back every year or two and produces long, tedious reports that ultimately end up in a filing cabinet. Askemo shows you straight away what’s going on with your staff, and gives you tips and advice that enable you to take immediate action at all levels of your organisation: company-wide, by department and at an individual level.

By the way, we prefer to talk about ‘enthusiasm’ rather than ‘satisfaction’… ;)

What makes askemo different from other feedback tools?

Askemo doesn’t just focus on scores or dashboards, but on progress. It highlights where tension, friction or risk arises, ensuring that discussions and actions take place in good time. No dusty reports that end up in a drawer. Above all, our clients say that speed, a focus on action and the ease of use really do add value.

Be sure to check out our customer stories if you’d like to see videos or articles from other organisations.

Which organisations is askemo intended for?

Askemo is used by organisations that are serious about listening and taking action. From SMEs to larger organisations. Particularly where staff turnover, absenteeism or underlying dissatisfaction are issues. Organisations with cultural differences benefit from Askemo in particular. Cultural differences arise due to growth (organic or through acquisition), different types of staff (office vs production) or the presence of different locations and/or departments.

    Is Askemo just for HR?

No. HR plays an important role, but askemo is just as relevant for team leaders, the works council and management. Alerts are sent to the people who can act on them.

During the on-site setup, we work together to determine who receives which alerts and when.

How do you know which questions to ask?

Askemo offers more than 15 libraries covering various themes (MTO, Onboarding, eNPS, PMO, PSA, etc.). Within these libraries, Askemo provides over 300 validated themes and statements. In addition, customers can customise or add to all libraries, themes and statements.

There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all survey. Every organisation is unique; together, we can tailor your employee survey to your organisation, or we can opt for our best-practice approach and get started straight away!

What is the difference between continuous and periodic monitoring?

If you opt for continuous research, in practice this often takes the form of a weekly or fortnightly pulse survey. We often find that this is initially well received, but that after a few weeks the response rate drops, as does the follow-up on the responses by managers.

For this reason, we recommend opting for regular surveys. After each set of questions (pulse survey or otherwise), you pause the survey and allow the organisation to act on the feedback received. Only then do you proceed with a follow-up survey.

The major advantage is that you invest time and effort in follow-up, thereby keeping the motivation to respond high. The result is that you prevent survey fatigue, and thus receive more and better feedback. A win-win situation, in other words.

Does Askemo provide figures or reports?

Askemo provides insights, not traditional reports. You can spot patterns, anomalies and trends. Designed to spark conversations and enable action.

    Can employees respond anonymously?

Yes. Anonymity is crucial in employee surveys, and we handle this with the utmost care. The aim is to create a safe environment so that people feel confident enough to say what they really think.

Incidentally, it is also possible to request non-anonymous feedback using askemo, for example in an onboarding survey.

Does askemo help reduce staff turnover and absenteeism?

Yes. Askemo isn’t a magic bullet, but it does help to identify risks earlier.

Organisations use Askemo to spot warning signs before people drop out or leave. On average, our clients save over 4% on absenteeism and staff turnover in the first year.

What does Askemo’s support look like in practice?

Askemo supports you not only technically, but also in terms of content. You’ll receive guidance on questions such as: what are we measuring, when should we listen, and what should we do with the signals we receive?

Support is not mandatory; it is available when needed. Some organisations use Askemo largely independently, whilst others liaise with our team more frequently. If you opt for support, you will always be assigned a dedicated contact person; we do not have an anonymous, hard-to-reach helpdesk.

It is practical and to the point. You are assigned a dedicated point of contact who helps you think through questions, interpret signals and translate these into action. No lengthy reports or consultancy processes.

Support is often used to build buy-in among management, leaders and teams.

Do we need to do a lot of preparation before we start?

No. Askemo is designed to be straightforward. No lengthy preparations, no complex configurations. First, listen; then refine the process step by step.
Apart from attending the three-hour setup workshop, your preparation involves introducing the research to your colleagues and managers. Of course, we have templates and documentation to help you with this.

Is askemo compatible with existing HR systems, such as AFAS or NMBRS?

Yes. Askemo operates independently of HR systems and can be used alongside them without any issues. It does not replace administrative processes, but complements them where systems stop listening. Askemo has a certified integration with AFAS and Visma Nmbrs, as well as an integration via REST API with other HRIS software providers.

Is Askemo more expensive than a standard MTO?

No. The investment is lower than with traditional market research agencies. This is mainly because you don’t need large-scale annual projects and you spend less time on reporting and follow-up.
On average, our clients save around 30% on their research costs, whilst also saving time!
