Employment agency Werktalent believes that a company grows with the right people, and that people grow in the right company.
You can only make such a match when you know each other personally and understand the situation. That is why all Werktalent branches are run by local entrepreneurs. They know the region and speak the language of the workplace. A cup of coffee is easily arranged, to get to know each other better and help each other grow. In this way, Werktalent helps its clients find new employees and ensures that existing employees remain happy.
We spoke to Thomas van Ringen. Thomas has been working at Werktalent as Marketing Manager since 2020.
“We believe that personal contact with candidates is crucial, and we achieve this through our partnership with askemo.”
“We started out as a temporary employment agency 21 years ago, but we’re now an employment agency. That means we don’t just place people with our clients, but assist and support them throughout the entire process, or, if desired, take the process off their hands. In that case, we handle the recruitment, selection and, ultimately, the secondment. We operate primarily in logistics, industry and engineering.”
“I think we really value personal contact. When you work with us, you’re not just a number making money for us. You’re a person with your own aspirations regarding work and personal development. We believe it’s important to really listen to those aspirations. We want to speak to candidates in person and understand what’s on their mind.”

“We believe personal contact is crucial; ultimately, that’s what we achieve through our partnership with askemo.”
“One of our guarantees is local work that suits you. But of course, we need to find out whether the work actually suits you. It’s very important to us that someone enjoys their work. That’s why every employee has their own contact person within our organisation. They can always get in touch with them for questions, comments or just to have a chat.
Because not everyone is naturally talkative, askemo has helped us get more out of our contact with employees by offering them an additional channel to provide feedback.”
“That’s why, immediately after their first day at work, we ask our employees how their first day went – in a very informal way”
“Together with askemo, we’ve turned our process into a feedback workflow. It starts as soon as an employee signs a contract.
By that point, the person has gone through the entire application process and received a lot of information from us. We then ask for feedback with a single short question to make sure we really know that everything is going as we want it to, or that there might be something on this employee’s mind. Fortunately, we actually always score very well on this.”
“We’ve noticed that the first day at work can be nerve-wracking for some employees. It’s also when they really get their first impression of the job. So it’s a key moment for assessment. That’s why, immediately after their first day, we ask our employees how it went – in a very approachable way. We’ve set it up so that an email is sent directly from their contact person.

During the first three months, we ask a single question at various intervals, because we want to know if everything is going well. This prevents any issues from festering; instead, we stay one step ahead of them.
Our clients sometimes still find asking for feedback a bit daunting, but we’re quite good at convincing them that it’s better to get that information. Even if someone turns out to be a bit less satisfied, it’s always better to simply know so that you can resolve it.”
